MOHICAN Turquoise Stone Earrings, Lapis Lazuli and Green Garnet

The Grossular Garnet pillars give these earrings an ancient, primitive quality. The color is soft green and complimentary  of the lapis and turquoise beads. The earrings are finished with sterling silver and measure 2".

TURQUOISE- Egyptians prized Turquoise as a Life Stone. The oldest pieces of jewelry set with this gem are four bracelets found on the mummified arm of Queen Zar. She ruled in Egypt about 5500 BC.
Highly revered in Tibet, a Turquoise stone was carried throughout one's entire life. It was exchanged as currency & the finest stones were considered more valuable than gold.

GREEN GROSSULAR GARNET- The name comes from the Latin "granatus" meaning like seeds in reference to the pomegranate (Granatum) for garnets are often found seeded in rocks.
Grossular Garnet varies in color from colorless to white, pale green to emerald, brown, grey, and black.

LAPIS LAZULI has always been greatly valued by rulers as early as the fourth millennium B.C.
